The Commission Process

  1. The first step is to contact me and we’ll start talking about your dream portrait! You will want to provide me with any information like the desired size, number of portraits, number of subjects, and kind and breed of pet. I work off a reference photo to keep each portrait ultra-realistic, so I will want to see photographs of your pet. There is an art to selecting a good reference photo that will translate well into a a gorgeous piece of artwork, so the more quality photos you provide, the better. We then work together to select the source photo.

  2. I will create a custom estimate and send it to you for your approval. Upon your approval we finalize any additional details, such as framing options etc.

  3. I then send you a contract with all the details in it for you to review, approve, and sign.

  4. Once all paperwork is signed, I request a 50% deposit be paid via check. Once the deposit is received work commences.

  5. I will update you as the work progresses. Once the artwork is complete, I will send you a digital photograph and a request for the final payment via check.

  6. After I receive the payment, I will send you a fun digital photo process collage, so you can see the creation process! I will deliver or ship the artwork to you depending on your location and preference.

  7. I also provide custom options, such as getting your portrait printed on cards, or prints of your commissioned artwork. Is your pet hard to photograph, or would you like some photographs as well as artwork of your pet? This option may be available for some southern California areas.
